Week 25: Some Experiences and Feelings

Hi everyone ! I know last week I mentioned that I would be hitting my 6 months this week but I feel like I need to say more about the last 6 months I have been able to serve the Lord up in the great white North! I just wanted you guys to know that i am so grateful for my misison. I have learned so much. Some lessons have been humbling, painful and others i didnt want to learn. There have been tears. There has been some of the longest days of my life. There has been doors slammed and days where i feel like i couldnt take another step. But, there has been days of sunshine. Many wonderful days of which I have enjoyed. Days when someone has let us come into their home and offered to share the warmth of their fire and a hot drink in -30 degree winter days. Days you're exhausted, but excited to keep working. Days when the light of Jesus Christ brings happiness into someones usually heartbreaking life. Words aren't adequate to describe these days, to describe how it feels to see the atonement of the Savior at play in the lives of those you have come to love dearly. I will admit, this is the hardest thing I have ever done, and I've had to work harder than I've ever had to work, and give every last ounce I've had to give even on days when I feel like doing nothing. And I love it ! Not because it's always fun, or I've seen a lot of baptisms on my mission, or because people are always nice. I love it because my relationship with the Lord has strengthened a lot in these past 6 months. Ive learned more deeply what it means to love and respect someome who you spend everyday with and do everyrhing together (companion) I've come to understand better gods plan for us, I've learned that the atonement is central to everything we do. I get to see the atonement at work everyday in my life, in my companions lives, and in the lives of the people that I teach. We all need the Savior. We need his love and mercy and forgiveness. We need to know that we are not alone, and that anything that we go through no matter what it is, Jesus Christ walked the path before us, and overcame it all. He paved the way, he made it possible for us to return back to our Father in heaven who patiently waits for his children to come to him. There truly is no substitute for the peace and true happiness that comes from experiencing this in our lives and the lives of others. There is no substitute for living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There is no place I'd rather be right now. I love Canada, I love the people here, but above all I love the Lord, and I know I am loved by him. I want others to know that and feel the joy that comes when we really do know that. It makes all the difference!

That Is just a little summary of my experiences so far and I hope you all have enjoyed following along with me !
